What is Rising Damp?

Rising Damp is where water is allowed to rise up through walls by capillary action and is caused by the breakdown of or non-existence damp proof course (DPC).

If left unchecked it will rot any floor joists and other interior timber it comes into contact with, culminating in the development of wet rot or dry rot

Damp Proofing Services

Damp proofing with a water proof render after a damp course has been injected.

New Chemical Damp Course

If you have a rising damp issue we can resolve this by taking the wall surface back to brick. Drill and inject a special chemical water proofer into the integral structure to form an effective barrier against the rising of moisture and re plastering the wall's surface. We can Guarantee all our works to ensure peace of mind!

French drain to help prevent rising damp

French Drains

If the water level is higher on the outside of your property than the damp course on the inside of your property this will cause rising damp. We can resolve this by digging a french drain to allow adequate drainage for the water to ensure it does not rise up your walls but rather drains away in the ground.

Black mould due to lack of insulation and ventilation

Pentrating Damp

Penetrating damp although visually will have the same effect as rising damp the causes are different include leaking gutters and down pipes, defective flashings, masonry defects and poor ventilation. Basements and vaults are particularly prone to penetrating damp due to increased water pressures at sub-ground levels. The first step is to get a diagnosis from our team as there are different methods to cure penetrating damp including Tanking systems & Membrane system.
